Activities In Tobago

Try some or all of the following activities while in Tobago also known as: “Robinson Crusoe Island”

1. Visit “No-Man’s Land:

Fitting for the nickname “Crusoe Island” given to Tobago. You will absolutely love this strip of sand. You can access this beach through the Samaan Grove compound or if the weather is adverse (and road is impassable) take a lovely short boat ride from Store Bay or Pigeon Point and visit this snorkelers haven. Many times visitors plan nice picnic lunches or Bar-B-Ques and have a great day out here.

2. Go Kite-surfing:

Though not for everyone, this is a growing sport in Tobago. Activity shops based in Pigeon Point specialize in this fun sport. Renting equipment from them can get you an orientation class and supervision. Let them know your level of expertise because we would not like to see you flying off to another island on this kite!

3. Visit the Nylon Pool:

We are not fans of the Coral Reef because unfortunately mismanagement and pollution has led to its demise. We do encourage a trip to the shallow area at the top of the Buccoo Reef where although you are far from shore, the water just reaches you just above hip-height (for those of us at six feet).

4. Coco Reef Restaurant:

Have a great local-styled meal at Coco Reef restaurant. Every night here is a treat and the service is unsurpassed in our book. Many nights there is live entertainment to accompany delicious meals. We especially like the whole snapper with rice and local vegetables on the side. Have this with a local fruit juice and you are on your way to pleasing your palette like it has never experienced before!

5. Lounge on Pigeon Point:

Easily one of the most popular spots on the island. The facilities such as huts, umbrellas and chairs are well maintained and the area is always clean and lovely. There are eateries on site and lots of fun sports and activities for all. We however like the relax factor just listening to the waves lap to the shore and soak up the warm rays of the sun with a good book in hand.

6. Take a day trip to Charlotteville:

This is one of the best ways to explore picturesque Tobago with a lovely destination at the end. Pack some bottled water, snacks, sunscreen and hop in your rental. Remember that island map too! The roads in Tobago are very good for driving but can become rather narrow in certain places and we recommend caution around the corners, tip your horn so vehicles in the opposite direction can be aware that you’re coming. You will find many a photo opportunity from the lush tropical forests on one side to the brilliance of the ocean from many a high vantage point on the other. At the end of it all, you arrive to the quiet unspoilt village of Charlotteville, have a drink or meal at one of the local eateries, take a dip in the warm Caribbean waters and then you are on your way back.
